Armpits turn yellow from deodorant and sweat stains. Era is an enzyme based detergent that is good for organic stains such as sweat. It will also cut through the deodorant. Make sure your deodorant is dry before putting on your clothes to also help prevent those stains. I live in a home with galvanized steel pipes (I get rusty water sometimes) and the only way I can keep things white is to rinse a second time to ensure I get out all of the dirty water from the wash. It works for me and I hope it works for you. Also, if I have something that needs refreshed or is hopelessly wrinkled I throw it in with the fabric softener on that second rinse to save money. For all white clothing and all white underwear I always use a 1/2 cup of bleach in with the laundry load plus a cup of baking soda to soften the hard water good. Check for stains in the arm pits from sweating and pour a little bit of white vinegar on them with baking soda before washing. The same with under pants and men's underwear. Once they get the stained clothing cared for and the washing machine load set up for white clothing the whites will be white as new again.
