No – I honestly think she was tired and wanted to rest for a few hours. They did something like this I think on the last season when they were hiking. Both the groups took so many hours off to rest. I think that is where the idea came from.

It's very difficult to make an actual snowflake. You can come close, by spraying a fine mist into the air, and freezing it before it hits the ground, but it wont freeze the same way an "actual" snowflake freezes. The ice crystals will be different.
